Based out of her studio in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood, Katie Colby is a certified music educator with a degree from the University of Illinois in Music Education.  She has played the piano for seventeen years and sang for fourteen.  She is frequently hired as an accompanist.  Katie also participated in choir, band and theater for many years - creating a diverse musical background to share with others.  She studied at the University of Illinois with the world renown Ricardo Herrera.  She has performed in many theatrical productions and sung with a wide range of choirs.  Currently you can hear her exercising her voice with the recently founded Wicker Park Choral Singers.  She previously taught music at Crete-Monee High School, Whitney Young Magnet High School and John Barry Elementary.
